JOB SUMMARY

The psychiatric professional at our community behavioral health services agency plays a critical role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals with mental health and behavioral health challenges. This role involves clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management to support clients on their mental health journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to diagnose and understand clients'; mental health conditions.

  •  Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate medication management, therapeutic interventions, and holistic care approaches.

  •  Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, adjusting dosages and treatment plan based on clients' responses and needs.

  • Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, medical doctors, and other mental health professionals to provide integrated care.

  • Offer evidence-based psychotherapy, if appropriate, to address clients' emotional and psychological challenges.

  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to clients during mental health emergencies.

  • Monitor clients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their treatment plans.

  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, medication effects, and treatment options.

  • Document all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records.

  • Stay updated on advancements in psychiatric care, medications, and mental health research to provide the highest quality care.

  •  Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and collaborative care discussions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Medical doctor (m.d.) Or doctor of osteopathic medicine (d.o.) Degree from an

  • accredited medical school.

  • Board certification in psychiatry or relevant medical specialty.

  •  State medical license in good standing.

  • Experience in providing psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and medication management.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and approaches to integrated mental health care.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and their families.

  • Excellent communication skills to provide psychoeducation and treatment information clearly and compassionately.

  • Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to the well-being of individuals with mental health challenges.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and record-keeping.

WORK CONDITIONS

The psychiatric professional will work within a community behavioral health services facility, collaborating closely with mental health professionals in a team-oriented environment.
