Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist helps clients strengthen daily-living skills, increase independence, and participate more fully in their communities. Services are recovery-focused and designed around each client's goals and abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess strengths, needs, and recovery goals related to daily functioning and community participation.

• Develop individualized rehabilitation plans with clear goals, objectives, and skill-building strategies.

• Teach and practice communication, problem-solving, coping, time-management, socialization, and other daily-living skills.

• Facilitate group activities that promote skill development, peer support, and community integration.

• Coordinate with therapists, case managers, medical providers, and other team members.

• Provide education on wellness, coping strategies, and available community supports.

• Monitor progress, adjust services as appropriate, and encourage self-advocacy and independence.

• Document interventions, progress, and outcomes accurately and confidentially.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field.

• Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation, mental health support, or a related role.

• Understanding of recovery-oriented practices and skill-building interventions.

• Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, teamwork, and documentation skills.

• Knowledge of community resources and electronic health-record systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The specialist works with clients individually and in groups in a community behavioral health setting. Scheduling flexibility, including some evenings or weekends, may be needed based on client availability.
